Leading Hand at Aus-Rack Installations

In the position of Leading Hand, I was responsible for safely and efficiently performing and managing construction of storage equipment projects, controlling up to four-person crews. The role focussed on competent assessment of project requirements, planning and achievement of project goals and strong leadership application, with particular emphasis on customer satisfaction.

  • Safe operation and care of various hand and power tools in construction-site conditions;
  • Safe operation, regular maintenance and inspection of forklifts and scissor lifts;
  • Co-ordinate and participate in successful and efficient planning, scheduling, safe performance and on-time completion of projects or project elements;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with project outcomes, to contribute to customer retention;
  • Perform timely and accurate diagnostics/assessments;
  • Maintain awareness of stock control in relation to project resource requirements;

  • Advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of industry products;

Notable Achievements

  • Operated in the position of leading hand on a 14,750-hour project and played a key role in completing the project in only 12,600 hours. The project was for the construction of all pallet racks at Woolworths Wyong RDC (regional distribution centre), NSW in 2005.
